REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS! AGAIN, I SAY, REJOICE! These beautiful words of St. Paul are used in the Introit of the Mass for the Third Sunday, Laetare Sunday, of Advent. They remind us that, even in the midst of the penetential season of Advent, even in the midst of difficult times, we can not help but rejoice in the presence of Christ, our Savior. Remember, that on Christmas Eve, Our Lady of the Annunciation looks upon the Son born to her, and, in the words of one French version of the words for SILENT NIGHT, …………..“ She saw the Lord in the Child of her heart“ ………… A blessed, holy, happy Christmas to all of you, and all your „kith and „kin , wherever they may be!

The annual LITHUANIAN STRAW ORNAMENT WORKSHOP will take place after the 10:00 AM Mass at Kavine DECEMBER 4. Members of the Lithuanian Folk art Institute will be present to demonstrate the art of making ‘SIAUDINUKIAI” and help YOU make some yourself. Children and adults are welcome. Instruction will be in English and Lithuanian, so bring those grandkids!

On December 11, Professor Aldona Lingertaitis will join us for a Lithuanian language MINI-ADVENT RETREAT. Professor Aldona is well known as a counselor and leader at Camp Neringa, speaker, and teacher in the Boston area, and nationally. After 10:00 Am Mass we will all go to the parish hall, where Aldona will begin her presentation. The Kavine Committee will “Feed His Flock” with the help of the Penikas Family and the Povilaitis Family, for whose intentions the Mass will be said. We will all learn from Aldona, and pray together for one another, for ourselves, our families, our friends, and those standing in the need of prayer. If arrangements can be made, the day will conclude with Benediction. Please come, to feed your soul and your body. Bring a friend, and your children. There will be paper and crayons, and other small diversions for the children! Thanks go to Danute Norvilate Chotin and Raimundas Slizys for arranging for this very special event, and to Monsignor Calise for his resounding support for Aldona’s visit.
