A few other EXTRA NOTES…

NOVEMBER 1 is ALL SAINTS DAY… a Holy Day of Obligation

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS NOVEMBER 2 — CLOCKS ARE SET BACK BY ONE HOUR…

On Saturday, November 2, at 2 PM, Annunciation Parish and the NY Youth and Senior ATEITIS Chapters invite you to an hour of meditation, readings, and prayer for our Beloved Dead according to the liturgical practices of the TAIZE Ecumenical Monastery in France. (Info: Algi...@YAHOO.COM)

Rarely is Annunciation Parish able to commemorate our Beloved Dead exactly on all Souls Day, especially in such a prayerful and beautiful way. We will pray together, we will light candles together, we will mourn together, and we will sing together, to the greater glory of God. After the Liturgy, we will gather together, firm in our faith in the Resurrection, in our Parish Lower Hall for coffee, juice, tea and cakes, before we take leave of one another.

The ceremony will be in Lithuanian. However, we will make available the source of all the readings in English, so dust off your Holy Bible and bring it so you can read along with our Lithuanian language readers. Jesus said: I am the light of the world. He who follows me does not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life. (John Chapter 8, Verse 12) Come, to His Light…….

Sunday, November 3, the Parish will honor those who died in the past year with our traditional candle procession at Mass, and at a joint Memorial Luncheon at Kavine. ENVELOPES for you to use to list YOUR Beloved Dead, who will also be memorialized at Mass, are available in the vestibule of the church.

HEADS UP! The Parish THANKSGIVING FEAST will be on SUNDAY, December 1, following 10:00 AM Mass. The turkey is fabulous, the pumpkin pies homemade….the pumpkins come from Pat’s garden!…, and the fellowship in celebration of all we have, the best. (Donations for the usual raffle are gratefully accepted—so are Saturday helpers—SID...@AOL.COM)

HEADS UP #2Sunday, December 8, the Annual Straw Ornament Workshop will take place following both Masses. This year, for the first time, the Lithuanian Folk Art Institute, the Lithuanian Scouts Association, and Annunciation Parish will hold a CHRISTMAS MINI-MUGE, Starting at 12:15 PM. Do your Christmas Shopping in our Parish Lower Hall December 8! Annunciation Christmas Cards, Lithuanian and English, will be available!
